William E Pajaud Jr became a renown watercolorist, art director, and curator for the Golden State Mutual Life Insurance African American Art Collection. The collection spanned the range from Henry O'Sawwa Tanner and Beaulah Woodard to John Outterbridge and David Hammons. His journey from his birthplace of New Orleans to Los Angeles, and spots between, propagated friendships and encounters with numerous art luminaries such as Charles White, Elizabeth Catlett, John Biggers, Samella Lewis, Tyrus Wong, Romare Bearden, Betye Saar, Daniel LaRue Johnson, Henry Fukuhara, etc. This movie highlights his origins and philosophies, art activism, relationships with artists in 9 decades of change.
